What is a Radiologist?

Radiologists are physicians who specialize in diagnosing disease by obtaining and interpreting a variety of medical images. These images can be obtained by using x rays, radioactive substances, sound waves, or other techniques

All of our radiologists are Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology. Many are certified in subspecialty areas such as: Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, Angiography, and Interventional Radiology. The subspecialty areas of our radiologists cover the full spectrum of radiologic procedures which allows for extensive consultation and expertise. In more difficult cases, your exam my be evaluated by two or more radiologists. We have a sophisticated communications system which allows studies to be rapidly transferred form one site to another to allow for subspecialty expertise.

In short, Radiologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and repair of disease processes. Much of radiology is a "hands-on" experience.
